The build up of the inital project had the effect of bringing the different stylescloser together. Sans and Clarendon have a vertical axis and similar endingsin contrast to the Serif with a traditional diagonal axis.The straight stems fromthe original project are used as an element to stress the closeness of the typefamily. They thus share a comon feature.
