I took a picture of some letterforms in Ronda de la Frontera, Spain. Ronda is home to the oldest bullring in Spain. On the walls in that bullring, there are letterforms that say “Sombra” or “Shade”. They are meant to delineate the more expensive seats in the shade, or the cheaper seats in the sun. Its quirky forms are meant to evoke a sense of hand painted signage. Its thorn-like brackets have been said to have an “Old West” feeling.
