Rubrik was designed to describe a softer and more natural use of technology, and was inspired by the helpful feel of a manual typewriter. The typefaces on those old machines were designed to be proper, practical and popular. Rubrik’s simplified open forms resurrect that tone in a clear and modern way.
Rubrik has been created by Miles Newlyn, an internationally respected designer, having created identities for some of the world largest organizations, including Honda and Unilever. Newlyn is also an expert in corporate typography, designing typefaces for clients such as Citibank, British Telecom, and the Tate Gallery.
