The familiar numerals from the bottom of American MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) checks, designed in 1958 for printing in magnetic ink to be read by magnetic readers and humans; they are produced in several closely related weights for light, normal or heavy inking. Most simulated computer typefaces are based on this design.
